1.Develop and maintain taxonomies, thesauri, metadata, code lists and ontologies to support cataloguing and retrieval, as well as wider information and knowledge management activities. 2.Use expertise to curate and organise resources to make access easier for the end user (for example, by developing and maintaining webpages or creating subject guides). 3.Use subject matter expertise to structure information better (for example, for information retrieval). 4.Provide advice on cataloguing and classification standards, and ensure these are applied correctly.
